First and most important: this is all just for fun ! Don’t take it all too serious.

In this blog I want to report on my personal experiances  doing some sports like running and cycling and comment on good things, bad things and  lessons learned for hobby sportsman like us ;)

I started with running, some year / a year and a half ago (End of 2007).  After quite some sports activity in my teen ages I had some years where I did not do any sport at all. After a while I just thought that I need to do something for my physical fitness again and so I took something inexpensive and convenient – I started jogging. I did it like once or twice a week for half a years and then a  friend of mine also started running and after some month of training we decided to sign in to the 10km at the local Bremen marathon run in september 2008.

And that was really fun and gave me a real kick – disregarding that I was not that good as I got to know. I needed more than 51 Minutes for the 10 KM (which are 6.2 Miles) but I was glad I was able to make 10km at all, and I knew that 52 Min was my record at that time.

After this I really got infected by the sport virus and re-started my hobby runing with the goal to start again at the Bremen Marathon in 2009 but this time the half-marathon distance.

I also started to read more on running and fitness training and will report on what my opinions and experiances on different types of trainig are – what I think was good or bad (at least for me) and some highlights.

I was at 3 running events already in 2009 an improved my personal best on the 10km (6.2 miles) to 46:13 Minutes by now.
